# Description of Changes
- Reduced lightweight editor JSON size:
- Omit heavy page resources and contentStreams in lazy/lightweight
flows.
- Omit form fields in lazy metadata/editor bootstrapping flows.
- Strip inline font program blobs from lazy initial payloads.
- Added page-based font loading:
- New endpoint to fetch fonts for a specific cached page:
GET /api/v1/convert/pdf/text-editor/fonts/{jobId}/{pageNumber}
- Frontend now loads page fonts alongside page data and merges into
local doc state.
- Reduced save payload duplication:
- Partial export now sends only changed pages (no repeated full-document
font/metadata payload each save).
- Preserved round-trip/export safety:
- Missing lightweight fields (resources/contentStreams) are interpreted
as “preserve existing from cached PDF.”
- Annotation semantics fixed so explicit empty annotation lists can
clear annotations.
- Fixed a regression where lazy mode could fall back to full export and
lose overlays; lazy now stays on cached
partial export path when dirty pages exist.
- Logging/noise reduction
- Transport optimization:
- Enabled HTTP compression for JSON/problem responses. (might remove
later tho in testing)
### Outcome
- Much smaller JSON payloads for giant PDFs.
- Fewer duplicated bytes over the wire.
- Page-scoped loading of heavy font data.
- Better reliability for preserving overlays/vector/background content
during export.

Extracts file-based navigation logic from HomePage into pure function
with comprehensive test coverage.
New behavior:
- Opening 1 file from empty → switch to viewer (activeFileIndex: 0)
- Opening 2+ files from empty → switch to fileEditor
- pdfTextEditor tool → no auto-navigation (handles own empty state)
- Non-startup transitions (N→M files) → no navigation
Benefits:
- Pure function → easy to test and reason about
- Clear separation of concerns
- Preserves all existing behavior including pdfTextEditor special case
- Adds new multi-file startup behavior
Changes:
- HomePage.tsx: use getStartupNavigationAction() utility
- homePageNavigation.ts: pure navigation logic
- homePageNavigation.test.ts: comprehensive unit tests
Note: prevFileCountRef initialization kept as useRef(activeFiles.length)
to correctly handle files restored from IndexedDB on app startup.

Refactor and harden plugin subsystem: PluginLoader now validates and filters jar files more robustly (mime/probe fallback, jar readability check), normalises sorting, and resolves jar timestamps via creation/modified times. PluginFrontendController refactored to use helpers for suffix resolution and resource streaming, adds path traversal checks and clearer logging, and serves static assets from META-INF/resources/plugins. PluginService gains logging, duplicate-plugin-id detection (keeps first jar) and safer descriptor loading. Added Javadoc/comments to PluginDescriptorResponse, PluginMetadata and PluginResourceConfig. Frontend: add English plugin translations and migrate PluginSection defaults to English; remove openPluginWindow util. These changes improve security, stability and developer observability when loading and serving plugin assets.
Clean up unused imports and variables: remove useMemo import from PluginSection, drop unused Badge and Text imports from ToolPicker, and remove unused workflow setters (setLeftPanelView, setReaderMode, setSearchQuery) from the ToolPicker destructure. These are housekeeping changes to address linter warnings and reduce dead code.
Delete the unused pluginExplorerOpen useState declaration from QuickAccessBar.tsx to clean up dead state and reduce component clutter. No behavior changes intended.
Add icon and jarCreatedAt fields to plugin descriptors and responses; capture JAR creation time in PluginLoader (with content-type probe and improved logging) and include it in built PluginDescriptor. Update PluginMetadata to accept an icon. Improve URLClassLoader and toArray usages. Expose basePath and pluginsPath in ConfigController. Frontend: remove PluginExplorerModal, add a Plugins section in settings (PluginSection) and wire it into nav; enhance PluginRegistry to build icon URLs, include minHostVersion and jarCreatedAt, and normalize plugin data using app baseUrl; update ToolPicker to render plugin icons and UI tweaks. Misc: small UI/refactor changes and debug logging adjustments.

# Summary
- Adds desktop file tracking: local paths are preserved and save buttons
now work as expcted (doing Save/Save As as appropriate)
- Adds logic to track whether files are 'dirty' (they've been modified
by some tool, and not saved to disk yet).
- Improves file state UX (dirty vs saved) and close warnings
- Web behaviour should be unaffected by these changes
## Indicators
Files now have indicators in desktop mode to tell you their state.
### File up-to-date with disk

### File modified by a tool but not saved to disk yet

src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/1a7716d9-c6f7-4d13-be0d-c1de6493954b"

### File not tracked on disk

/>
# Limitations
- It's a bit weird that we still have files stored in indexeddb in the
app, which are still loadable. We might want to change this behaviour in
the future
- Viewer's Save doesn't persist to disk. I've left that out here because
it'd need a lot of testing to make sure the logic's right with making
sure you can leave the Viewer with applying the changes to the PDF
_without_ saving to disk
- There's no current way to do Save As on a file that has already been
persisted to disk - it's only ever Save. Similarly, there's no way to
duplicate a file.

# Description of Changes
This pull request improves the PDF stamping feature, particularly the
text stamping functionality, by introducing dynamic variables, improving
formatting flexibility, and refining positioning logic. The changes
include backend support for dynamic stamp variables (such as date, time,
filename, and metadata), improvements to text layout and positioning,
updates to the API and frontend for usability, and localization
enhancements for user guidance.
**Dynamic Stamp Variables and Text Processing:**
* Added support for dynamic variables in stamp text (e.g., `@date`,
`@time`, `@page_number`, `@filename`, `@uuid`, and metadata fields),
including custom date formats and escaping for literal `@` symbols. This
is handled by the new `processStampText` method in
`StampController.java`.
* Implemented validation and formatting for custom date variables,
ensuring only safe formats are accepted and providing user-friendly
error messages for invalid formats.
**Text Layout and Positioning Improvements:**
* Refactored text and image stamp positioning: now calculates line
heights, block heights, and widths for multi-line stamps, and adjusts
placement logic for more accurate alignment (top, center, bottom) and
margins.
* Updated the default font size for stamps to 40pt and improved font
size handling in both backend and frontend, including validation for
positive values
**API and Method Signature Updates:**
* Extended method signatures to include additional context (such as page
index and filename) for more powerful variable substitution in stamps
**Frontend and Localization Enhancements:**
* Added comprehensive help text, variable descriptions, and template
examples to the UI, making it easier for users to understand and use
dynamic stamp variables.
* Improved accessibility and clarity in the stamp formatting UI by
disabling controls appropriately and providing clearer descriptions.

# Description of Changes
This pull request primarily updates dependencies for both the frontend
JavaScript and Rust (Tauri) codebases, and refactors the
`MobileUploadModal` component to consistently use a centralized API
client for backend communication. The refactor improves code
consistency, error handling, and logging in the file upload workflow.
**Dependency updates**
* Updated several Tauri-related dependencies in both
`frontend/package.json` and `frontend/src-tauri/Cargo.toml` to their
latest versions, including `@tauri-apps/api`, `@tauri-apps/plugin-fs`,
`@tauri-apps/plugin-http`, `@tauri-apps/plugin-shell`, and associated
Rust crates. This ensures better compatibility, security, and access to
new features.

# Description of Changes
This PR replaces the legacy, fragile PDF/A validation logic (which
relied on manual regex parsing and PDFBox Preflight) with the robust
**VeraPDF** integration. Additionally, it introduces a new check for
**SEC/EDGAR compliance** and refactors the frontend report view to
display detailed verification results.
### Key Changes
**Backend (`GetInfoOnPDF.java`):**
* **VeraPDF Integration:** Replaced the custom `checkForStandard` and
`validatePdfAWithPreflight` methods with `VeraPDFService.validatePDF()`.
This aligns validation with industry standards.
* **Code Cleanup:** Removed approximately ~200 lines of technical debt,
including raw XML regex parsing and file-locking prone `PreflightParser`
logic.
* **SEC Compliance:** Added `isSECCompliant()` logic to validate
documents against typical EDGAR requirements:
* No Encryption.
* No Active Content (JavaScript).
* No External Links.
* No Embedded Files.
* No AcroForms.
**Frontend (`GetPdfInfo`):**
* **New Component:** Created `ComplianceSection.tsx` to handle the
complexity of compliance reporting.
* **Enhanced UI:**
* Added visual badges (Passed/Failed/Not Detected) using
`CheckIcon`/`CloseIcon`.
* Added support for displaying the detailed VeraPDF summary alongside
legacy boolean flags.
* Improved handling of "Not PDF/A" states.
### Motivation
The previous validation logic was prone to false positives/negatives and
memory issues with large files (due to Preflight). Moving to VeraPDF
provides accurate, profile-based validation (e.g., PDF/A-1b, 2b, etc.).
The SEC check satisfies a growing need for users validating documents
for financial filings.

# Description of Changes
This pull request introduces several improvements and new features
across the authentication and admin data APIs, with a particular focus
on multi-factor authentication (MFA) support and better handling of user
settings. The changes include integrating MFA status into account data
responses, masking sensitive user settings in admin views, and
refactoring code to use more robust user creation methods. Additionally,
there are minor code cleanups and consistency improvements.
### Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) Integration
* Added `mfaEnabled` and `mfaRequired` fields to the `AccountData`
response, populated using the new `MfaService`, to provide clients with
MFA status information for users.

### User Settings Handling and Security
* Admin settings API now returns user settings for each user, with the
`mfaSecret` field masked to protect sensitive information. This is
achieved by fetching settings via `findByIdWithSettings` and
