kenneth@hexad.dk c74092f8a9 Fixed some timeout/abort issues by implementing everything by hand, on top of the async methods. 
Now the WebRequest.Timeout property ONLY affects the GetRequestStream() and GetResponse() methods as the documentation says it SHOULD.

The mkdir command is now executed without a trailing slash.
Since this is too close to the release of 1.3, there is a fallback that will try with a trailing slash as well, to catch the odd case where a SSH server has the opposite problem.

This flag allows the backends to provide better testing and warning messages.
