Homelable could only own the root of an origin. Behind an existing proxy
at `https://home.example/homelab/` the built `index.html` still asked for
`/assets/*`, which fell through to whatever owned the root — and when
that answered `text/html` for a `<script>` under `nosniff`, the browser
failed the load on an HTTP 200. The only workaround was patching the
checkout and rebuilding on every upgrade.
One build-time knob, `VITE_BASE_PATH`, becomes Vite's `base`. Vite
rewrites the asset URLs it emits; everything the app builds by hand goes
through the new `utils/basePath.ts` — the axios instances, the WebSocket
URL, the live-view route, the local brand icons, and the OIDC login href.
`resolveServerPath` covers what the *backend* hands back, which is always
root-absolute because it cannot know where the SPA is mounted: uploaded
floor-plan URLs already stored in a canvas are resolved at render time,
so plans predating the move keep loading. The OIDC callback used to
redirect to `/`, dropping subpath users at the origin root after login;
it now reads the prefix back out of `OIDC_REDIRECT_URI`.
The default is `/`, and stays a no-op there by construction: every helper
returns the string it returned before, the root build output is unchanged
and both nginx sites are byte-identical to what shipped — the Docker
image copies `docker/nginx.conf` verbatim and the installer keeps its
original heredoc. Only a non-default prefix takes the generated config.
Those generated configs use `root`, never `alias`, since `alias` plus
`try_files` mis-resolves `$uri` — the Docker build lands the bundle in
the matching subdirectory, and the installer symlinks it under
`/var/www/homelable`. Both accept either reverse-proxy style, prefix
forwarded intact or already stripped, with no redirect loop between them,
and `absolute_redirect off` stops the no-slash 301 from eating the port.
Closes#334.
ha-relevant: maybe
A same-origin deployment behind a reverse proxy needs no CORS, so
CORS_ORIGINS is left at its localhost default — but browsers still send
Origin on unsafe methods, and OIDCCSRFMiddleware validated it against
CORS_ORIGINS alone. Every POST/PUT/DELETE came back 403 while reads
worked, so creating a canvas failed with no usable error.
The OIDC callback URL is served by this app, so the origin of
OIDC_REDIRECT_URI is the app's own and is always a legitimate CSRF
origin. origin_is_allowed now accepts it in addition to CORS_ORIGINS,
and settings validation warns at startup when CORS_ORIGINS omits it so
the misconfiguration is visible rather than silent.
Fixes#356

- Replace passlib.CryptContext with bcrypt 4.2.1 directly (passlib is
unmaintained and only emitted warnings when paired with bcrypt 4+).
hash_password / verify_password now call bcrypt.checkpw / .hashpw, and
verify_password is hardened against empty inputs without raising.
scripts/hash_password.py + tests/conftest.py updated to match.
- status_checker.check_node() now rejects targets starting with '-' before
any subprocess invocation, defending ping/tcp paths against arg-injection
if an admin sets a check_target like '-O'.
Tests added:
- test_auth: expired JWT, malformed JWT, wrong-secret JWT, empty password
vs empty server hash, verify_password edge cases.
- test_scan: _background_scan failure path marks ScanRun failed, leaves
non-running terminal status alone, success path invokes run_scan.
- test_status_checker: ping/tcp invocations are bypassed when target or
ip starts with '-'.
Backend coverage 89% → 90%.
- verify_password catches ValueError from passlib so a mangled hash
($ signs stripped by shell/Docker) returns False instead of crashing
- Settings.check_password_hash logs a clear startup error with fix
instructions when AUTH_PASSWORD_HASH doesn't start with '$2'
All settings (auth credentials, scanner ranges, status_checker interval)
now live in a single .env file via pydantic-settings. config.yml and
config.yml.example are deleted.
- Settings: add auth_username, auth_password_hash, scanner_ranges,
status_checker_interval; add load_overrides()/save_overrides() for
persisting runtime changes to data/scan_config.json
- auth.py: read credentials directly from settings
- scan.py: read ranges/interval from settings; write-back via save_overrides()
- scheduler.py: read interval directly from settings
- main.py: call settings.load_overrides() at startup
- docker-compose.yml: remove config.yml volume mount, add new env vars
- conftest.py: set settings fields directly instead of writing a temp config.yml
FastAPI's redirect_slashes=True causes GET /api/v1/canvas to 307 redirect
to /api/v1/canvas/ — axios follows the redirect but drops the Authorization
header, resulting in 403. Fixed by declaring routes as empty string instead
of '/' so no redirect is issued. Same fix applied to nodes and edges routes.
Updated all tests to use paths without trailing slashes.
Frontend:
- Split nodeTypes/edgeTypes into separate .ts files (react-refresh)
- Remove setState-in-effect in NodeModal (key prop reset)
- Fix handleSave accessed before declaration (useRef pattern)
- Exclude src/components/ui/** from eslint (shadcn generated)
- Use defineConfig from vitest/config for test type support
Backend:
- ruff --fix: sort imports, datetime.UTC alias
- Raise line-length to 120, ignore E501 in tests
- Break long update_node/update_edge signatures
- pyproject.toml: per-file-ignores for tests
