FadeSource only knew a layer and whether its mask was edited. With an
alpha channel or the Quick Mask targeted, filters, adjustments and paint
change that channel, but Fade blended the untouched layer back and left
the channel as edited. It now records what the command changed, as a
FadeTarget (a layer's pixels or mask, an alpha channel, or the Quick
Mask), and fades that surface.
